Best Performance Awards

Award History

From 1999 to 2024, the Best Performance Award subcommittee was comprised of the PSA President, Executive Director, Senior Director of Education and Accreditation, selected members of the media, and PSA professionals.

Committee members were present at the U.S. Championships and U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships and reviewed every performance at junior and senior level for both long and short programs.

Award Criteria

One winner was chosen from each category in men’s, ladies, pairs, dance, and synchronized skating. Selection was based on performance, not placement, and did not necessarily reflect the best technical skater. Elements considered include artistry, charisma/appeal, balance, originality, drama/emotion, music, costuming, humor, showmanship, quality, theme, and technical ability. Vote were tabulated by the executive director’s office and determined by a majority vote.
